Howdy,

In September I've a flight from Manila to Tagbilaran. As this is my first domestic flight in the Philippines, I wonder how long before departure I've to be there.
Any advice?

regards
Uwe

Check-in closes 1/2h before the flight, but you have to go thru security, do the check-in and pay the airport tax. So a minimum of 3 queues. And with the actual security increase everywhere I would suggest you to be 1h30 ahead of your flight at the entrance of the terminal.

Which airline are you using (to know which terminal)?

Thanks Yves. I've thought 1 hour should be sufficent, but 1:30 is okay too.
I fly with Cebu Pacific, as far as I remember Terminal 1. I've the ETIX at home, so I'm not sure yet...
It's quite cheap. I pay 6300 Peso for round trip with two persons (including Tax)

Look at my infos on NAIA there: http://www.filipinawives.com/asawa/viewtopic.php?t=11623 to locate the different terminals.

And my 2 photo-guides for old domestic terminal:
Departure: http://www.filipinawives.com/asawa/viewtopic.php?t=22687
Arrival: http://www.filipinawives.com/asawa/viewtopic.php?t=22689

You're lucky, you will fly on their A319 assembled in Hamburg!
Don't tell Pete but I will fly in the A380 beginning of September, he may get jealous...

If you're going directly from terminal 1 to old terminal, you should count 1/2h for getting the taxi and going there with some traffic. With 1h of processing from landing time to go out of terminal 1, try to have 3h between your 2 flights so you should not have any problem.
Remember also that 85% of Cebu Pacific starts on time (less than 1' delay) and 95% under 15' delay. So they are mostly on time (it's not PAL!) and these statistics where with the DC9-80 (I don't have yet the one with their new A319 fleet, it should be better!

For the ticket price, it's ok via Internet. Personnaly I would just by it one way as with Sally you would surely get a better price at their office. I always save money by booking directly at their office (there so often promotions!). Try to win at their games during the flight! you will see it's funny and very different of our european domestic flight (I had only 2time a funny flight attendant in an Air France flight, it was the same guy on the 2 flights to Hamburg).

PS: I suppose you know by heart the arrival in terminal 1 and don't need to look at my arrival photo-guide there... :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

CEBU Pacific is in the old terminal.. Its about 10-15 mins to drive from the international airport, NAIA terminal 2 is exclusive for PAL only!:)

Nope! Apart all PAL flights, you have also the international flights from Air Philippines there (their domestic flights are in the old domestic terminal).

You have only one airport in Manila.
Manila Airport have 4 terminals: Terminal 1 (all international flights excepts all Philippines airlines), Terminal 2 "Centenial Terminal" (PAL International/domestic flights and Air Philippines international flights), Terminal 3 (not open yet!) and old Domestic Terminal (Cebu Pacific, Air Philippines domestic flights, Seair). This airport include also a Cargo terminal.

It's not P6,923.84 ? their minimum round trip fare is 2xP568 on which have to add P2,325.92 (VAT, fuel surcharge, insurance and other taxes).
You got a better deal?

Hi Uwe

Take a look in the forum gallery - you will see a picture of the Philippines Tarsier that I took at Luboc in Bohol - about 1 hour drive from Tagbilaran - this is a 'must visit' while you are there

also you can see the Asian Spirit aircraft we travelled on at Tagbilaran Airport - this will make you glad you have chosen PAL

me too

If you're going directly from terminal 1 to old terminal,

I'll stay 2 nights in Manila. No need to proceed immediatly from arrival to departure

It's not P6,923.84 ? their minimum round trip fare is 2xP568 on which have to add P2,325.92 (VAT, fuel surcharge, insurance and other taxes).

Sorry, forget to check it at home. But I will this evening and tell you tomorrow

Thanks. Will check the gallery. And we'll try to see that tarsier. I've seen a picture with Francesca once.

What about that season? Are they brown now or more green? Is it worth to see even they are not "chocolate"?

Very sorry - but the name escapes me - it was on the way out of Tagbilaran (north) about a half mile after the Cathedral - located on the right and overlooking the sea

Here is a sunset taken at the poolside

there is a fast ferry from cebu to tagbilaran.

its probably cheaper to fly to cebu (actually mactan), taxi to the docks, then catch the ferry.

the tickets can be bought from the ground floor of SM in cebu.
