...another one bites the dust!
This is the 3rd this year, and in the airline industry these days, that is a lot. They make Philippine Airlines look reliable. :cwm24:
Looks like this one had a fire on board and tried to land.....on a mountain....not a good idea!
The last plane that went down there was full of children, this one had 30+ on coming back from there hols :NoNo:
Make you realise how strict our airlines are in the West, even with these 737 whistleblowers......probably disgruntled employees.

Youre right on this one as always Keith, I was listening to the radio on the way home, and Russian carriers have a pretty poor maintenance record recently, it must be pretty demoralizing when you see an Aeroflot Ilyushin with a peice of masking tape on the Rudder section, no what I mean ?
Actually its my understanding and no doubt Yves will know more about this, that Philippine Airlines has Lufthansa Technik looking after their maintenance schedules, I find that pretty reassuring, knowing how good German maintenance and attention to detail is...

It looks bad, for sure, but you have to remember there are many of these TU-154 still flying. In the USA and UK, the B737 is considered the backbone of the industry - same for this TU154 in Russia.
On another note, its good to see Cebu Pacific have retired all of their (very) old DC9's and three 757's with an all new Airbus A319/A320 fleet. Yves, were you involved in that deal? :icon_lol::Erm:
