Wow that is cheap, about £2.05 in UK money, very tempting when the weather here is like winter. :Rasp:

Son't dream too quickly Rob: Fare is exclusive of applicable fees and taxes
So you will have to add around P1200 to P1500

The problem with most tickets now is the cost of taxes and fuel surcharges. It's up to 25% of the ticket price (overseas flights from Europe) and can be 50% for a Cebu Pacific flight (outside the sales).

Just dont expect to be able to pay for a ticket online from here in the UK.
We tried last month and we had error after error. We called their HK and Manila office and they were unable/unwilling to help.
In the end we had to get family to pay with cash in an RP office and even that was a hassle.:NoNo:
You have been warned.

You'll have no worries, as Cebu Pacific have the youngest fleet of aircraft in the whole of Asia. The online booking is easy and no hassle, so yeah go ahead and book with confidence.

Yves, I just got back from Manila, and we had the chance to get a good look at NAIA3 during taxi back to Domestic Terminal, what a criminal waste of an empty terminal, the people involved in this mess should be sacked. Its obvious NAIA1 and Domestic are running at well over capacity and keeping NAIA3 empty like this is stupid.

I see security at Tacloban airport is still, well, non-existent :NoNo: The baggage x-ray machine still doesnt work after 4 years, theres 1 detector thats obviously faulty as every person passing through it sets off an alarm, and all passengers have to open their cases so "security" can find any suspect devices. This usually involves said security personnel just dipping their hands into the suitcase for 2 seconds, then thats it. Then theres the baggage label inspectors :censored: :censored: .....

Glad you had a safe journey back.

Im surprised Talcloban has not added a surcharge to the airport fee for the scanner, or is it just the international ones that can do that?

While i don't want to pay extra fees if it brought in better more efficent security it might be worth it.

I notcied most of the phill walkthough scanners go off pretty easily, but i have walked though with a cheap belt under my shirt several times and not set it off and that has enough metal to make a very small knife/weapon i guess.

The airport at kalibo from what i remeber there was more concern about making sure our luggage was not over weight than if we had a bomb etc in there.

When we were last in phill back in march, there was lots about the terminal. If i remeber the goverment was trying allsorts to sue various parties involved in the cock up. I have a feeling though that they would be better spending the money they waste on various court cases to sort the mess out themselves from my uninformed view.

Looks lovely from the pictures shown on the tv, dam shame as you say.

I concur with Yves, I always book Cebu Pacific online, when we book our flights into the provinces from Hong Kong.

Cebu Pacific has the best online booking site of any airline in the Philippines, its probably the easiest and most informative of all the low cost airline business models.

So as Yves says, can you be more specific.

This is good news Yves, I guess Cebu Pacific unlike Philippine airlines has gone down the road of the low cost airline business model, Ryanair in the UK and Easyjet have similar models, Ryanair in the UK is now offering flights to most major European destinations for taxes only, with no seat cost.

However, they are making more money out of insurances, in flight catering, and charging for baggage, and humanized check in services, the business model works best if you check in online and make your way to the gate without going to check any bags in.

You are allocated your seat at point of boarding, on a first come first served service, this way, they dont have to employ check in staff, and handle any bags.

As long as you can board the aircraft with 1 piece of hand baggage only not exceeding 6KGS, and provided you dont have any in flight meals or drinks, and provided you dont buy travel insurance, and dont book online hotels and cars, you can get away with just paying the airport taxes and international departure tax.

Way to go Cebu Pacific, with their new fleet of Airbus A3xx series, the fleet is clean, great seating, especially in rows 12 and 14, especially reserved for foreigeners.

I love travelling with them.

Jim, did you actually book your flight with AeroHKG, or is it just at the enquiry stage? Sometimes email providers get shirty with email from domains with an Asian IP address, might be worth checking your spam folder. I had an email from Cebu Pacific rejected at my email service, but luckily I had a backup and that caught it instead.

Not only did we have hassle booking the tickets online which proved impossible for us,they also seem to be having trouble giving me a refund due to me 4 months ago.
We applied for it in the office in which we paid for the tickets and they said we would have to wait 60 days..We waited for 80 days and went back. They told me I would have to go to the Pasay office to get my money so we went..
Whilst in the waiting room, other customers advised us that we should not expect a refund as they had been trying for much longer than me..
They were right..We were told to come back after 6 weeks.
Many irate customers there in Pasay and I still dont have my refund..:furious3:
Their customer services are a mess and it is quite obvious that they expect customers to just give up(which I will not).

Well glory be!! They gave me a cheque for half the amount!!
The other half represents travel tax which I have to apply for at the Ministry of tourism!!
The problem is the cheque in my name so no way to cash it...Yet.

Be sure to take some sandwiches with you before boarding the plane in domestic flights.

Cebu Pacific is a low cost airline like EasyJet or Ryannair. So you can't expect to have the same service as in a standard airline, but the pricing is not the same. Compare Cebu Pacific and Cathay Pacific on HongKong-Manila route. Pricing and service are really different.

Anyway, Cebu Pacific is offering a drink and a snack on all domestic flight and I never saw food to buy in these ones. Are you speaking of their international flights?

Cebu Pacific increase its order for ATR 72 turboprops by 4. They have now 10 firm orders (and still 4 options). They will receive their first ATR end of february.

These aircraft will be used on routes needing less capacity than their A319 and A320 (the difference in time on a 1h route is only just more than 5 minutes between an A320 and an ATR turboprop), and also open routes to airports that can't accomodate A319/A320. The Philippines have 75 airports on which only 25 can accomodate A320 or B737 types.

The first airport to be use with their first ATR 72-500 will be Catlican from February 29 next year.

They are thinking of having a fleet of 50 aircraft in 2012 (32 Airbus A319/A320 and 18 ATR 72). As today, they have "only" 15 Airbus. Their fleet will be at 25 aircraft end of 2008 (19 airbus and 6 ATR).

Just got this mail from Cebu Pacific:

CEB reduces domestic fares permanently and introduces the "all-in" fares with the lowest seat sale ever!

Not even the rising cost of fuel can make your number one domestic carrier in the Philippines raise its fares, in fact, we are bringing them down and making it even easier and affordable to fly!

The new lower All-inclusive fares will take effect on June 12, 2008. This includes the fuel and insurance surcharge, aviation security fee and 12% VAT!

The ‘All-in’ pricing format is introduced with a seat sale across CEB’s domestic network. The promotional offer will run from June 12 to 17, 2008 and is valid for travel on July 1 to October 15, 2008. There are more than half a million seats up for grabs for the seat sale!

‘All-in’ fares for short sectors such as Manila-Legaspi are at P699 one-way while a one-way Manila-Cebu flight would cost P999 and a Manila-Davao sector would cost only P1,499 during the seat sale.

With the ‘all-in’ pricing format you can compare CEB fares with other modes of transportation including ferries and buses, and you'd be surprise on how low our fares go!

After the seat sale, the one-way Manila-Davao would cost P2,499 ‘All-in’ while a one-way Manila-Cebu is sold at P1,499, while your out of pocket cost for one-way Manila-Legaspi is only P999 one-way.
