I turned up in manilla without a ticket to davao.

flights were full (including business class) so I paid a fixer to get me on the next flight (cost 7,500).

the fixer is the 24hr agent next to the phil air office (opposite cebu & air phil) near the domestic terminal.

i wonder what happened to the poor sod who got bumped off my flight? :Hellooo:

Let me see, buying a ticket in advance on Cebu Pacific web site (it's just an example) is PHP 2,360.96 (taxes/fuel surcharge included) and on PAL web site: PHP 2,787.00.

So you lost P5000, the price of a round trip Manila <-> Davao. Nice tip anyway...

i flew phil air. price would normally be 4000.

alternativly I could have stayed in manila (cost 120$/night). First time I went to boracay I had to wait 2 days because of availability.

I guess there is something to be said for forward planning..
