Apologies for the delay in replying, we've been extremely busy with other projects.
The best, and cheapest way is to open an account with the Philippine National bank, and transfer it across accounts. This costs a few quid, but is the safest option.
Don't use any other Philippine banks as the charges are excessive.

;) There is an easy way of sending money to the Philippines. I will just refer you to my page so i will have a credit for refering you to the site. Its easy and very convenient, cause you can even use your credit cards to send money. Just click on the link in my page ********* then to the "payment gateway". Now they have an offer for the first 200 dollars you well send free of charge. Meaning they will only charge you the next time you send. And if you could check there rates is lower and there is no need to go to the outlets (like westernunion did) or mail checks, all you need to do is visit the website. I hope this could help and please do sign our guestbook at ******.
Thanks,
mat

I see we have a spammer on the forum!
I run a number of forum, the most successful at www.win2win.co.uk/forum , but people who try to make money on the back of my hard work get what they deserve. ;D
For those wishing to send secure money across the internet www.paypal.com is the best known, and the UK based www.nochex.com.

Hi, I'm new here but i saw this post and thought i could offer help.
Another good way to send money to overseas is offered by The Post Office. It is called a MoneyGram.
Go to ANY post office, on ANY street and ask to send a moneygram. They will ask you which city and then you are shown a list of trusted addresses (Banks, etc..) in that city.
Make a note of the address because this is where the person goes to collect your money.
Then you fill in a form, hand over the money and they telephone your order through.
The money is available for collection INSTANTLY. Simply call the person you send the money to and tell them the address to collect it from. They will need a form of ID like a passport and you can also supply a special word or phrase for added security.
There IS a fee to be paid at this end, a percentage of the money you want to send.
But its quick, safe and easy.
Hope this is of some help to others.
Peace.

Even I didn't know that one.
You can find info at http://www.royalmail.com/portal/default/al...__MoneyGram.xml (http://www.royalmail.com/portal/default/all/home?paf_gear_id=100002&paf_gm=content&paf_dm=full&paf_gear_state=con_content&xmlPath=/docContent/xml/03__Money/04__MoneyGram.xml)
Not sure how long that link will be valid but you can search for MONEYGRAM directly via http://www.royalmail.com
That address is also handy for pricing up parcels to send, which is secure & insured.

I sent money to my wife via the Philippine National Bank, basically, I went to the PNB in Notting Hill Gate, told them my wife's account number and sent money, the first 30 times there was no problems,( passport, etc ), however all of a sudden they wanted to know the in's and out's of a Duck's, anyhow, I then opened a joint account the next time that I went home, when I returned to the UK I again went to the PNB in Notting Hill Gate and explained that I wanted to put money into my account, low and behold the Duck appeared again, so according to the PNB in La Union, yes of course you can open an account so, according to the PNB in London, What, you want to put money into your account, unheard off.
At the moment I use a company in Earls Court called, Philippine Remitance, ( Philrem ), no problems what so ever, and the young lady that serves me is drop dead gorgeous, what more could an Englishman that misses his Philippine wife want.
Paypal is the cheapest. ( use it for Ebay )
Nochex is also apparently good.
Good luck to you all and if you use the PNB don't forget the Duck.

Thanks for that Steve. For anyone else reading, NEVER post money to the Philippines, it tends to go "missing" :-/

I used Western union you can set it up on line, once you have specified the ammount you will be given a referance number.
A phone call to the office they complete the transaction and in abut 20 minutes its available at the destination. just give the recipiant the referance number and the ammount they walk into any brach and collect there is also a facility where western union will text them to let them know its ready (you have to pay extra) you will get an email from them once the money has been collected.
I sent £50 the exchange rate was £1 = 107 php and it cost my £12. Hope this helps

The cheapest way by far is through "Philippine remittances", this is in Kensington London, it costs around £6.00 to send up to £500.00 and the money is paid locally into any branch of Barclays bank, once the money is in their account, they will send it to any bank in the Philippines, or they can do a door to door service.
I will post the details when I get back as I dont have them to hand, I am using a wireless connection service at your friendly McDonalds, in Bacolod City.

Quoted post
I can also suggest the XOOM.COM sending money as they will have a tracking record of your transaction with them and it when someone picked up or direct to the account you want to send.

HI,
The only thing i can suggest it is much better to send money going to phils through XOOM (http://www.xoom.com), all he do is just to register and send money online, either he have to used credit card or paypal. you can pick up the money to PCI Bank or Cebuana Lhuillier..very cheap and more lesser than western union. About banking to banking it will takes 2-3 days.Im sure some of the members here have done that so just wait for there response.:Erm:

I've been using a nationwide flex account, My Wife to be, just uses it to draw money from ATMs (BPI is my fav) no fee at all and it's within 0.5% of the mid rate (acually it's the visa rate). I just transfer money to it by ebanking it and tell her how much to draw (no overdraft)
Also leaves me with good records for the visa process.....
She also has a letter of permission from myself to be using my card, in case of any questions.
and Yes i'm sure nationwide wouldn't be very happy that i'm allowing someone to use my card.
It's turned out very handy to pay for all that wedding stuff. :-)
Dave,
Edit: sorry just noticed this is in the wrong forum, shouldn't really of replied..not really news :-)
