It has been reported recently that there was the makings of another military coup by the Generals, relax everyone, there has not been a coup as was previously thought.
3 retired Generals have been making waves, and putting the rumous around the Philippine military, it is still safe to travel to the Philippines, there is at present a cogressional investigation into the former comptroller of the Army, General Garcia.
This has caused the AFP to be unsettled, and various rumours are flying around about possible coups, again, this is normal in the Philippines Military and fizzles out normally after a few days.
Members are ok, and should there be any doubt as to your travel arrangements, the Foreign office website, can give you information on there assessment of the safety aspects regarding travel to the Phlippines
My sources in the Philippines tell me nothing has happened, and everything is as normal, and to be honest, they tell me there is always rumours of coups.
In fact it was put to me a couple of days ago, that the Philippines is the only country in the world, where a coup is advertised and everyone is invited to watch.
