This is a great hotel, 2 minutes from central Orchid Road (main shopping road), and great food. Never stayed there before, but eaten many times. Also newly renovated.
Now when they quoted me for 15 nights a while back, it was S$144 not including breakfast. I then discovered a site called CNEHolidays for Worldwide bookings, and boy is it excellent service and cheap. They quoted me S$129 WITH breakfast!!
I then had to deal direct with the hotel as booking out is midday on our departure, and the flight doesn't leave till midnight, so we usually have an extension till 9pm. Normal hotel policy in Singapore is for 50% of the normal room rate, which is fine.
The York on the other hand told us it was S$150!!! After haggling they said S$70 and out at 6pm, no more offers. Miserable gits, as 6pm is no good. We like to get a nice bath and meal just before the flight.
So I got back onto CNEHolidays, and they said adding an extra night was no problem, we would have to pay the full whack, but because we also now have a strong pound, we have only been charged £27, the hotel wanted £46.87!! Bloody thieves.
So if your looking for a hotel, try CNE first.
