Singapore airline and its sister company Silk Air. www.singaporeair.com. bring you to The newly opened Davao Airport via Cebu from London Heathrow. youir luggages will be out in davao as fast as you walk out of the aircraft. The airport is very clean, modern and very efficient with very friendly officials and hasstle free.

Whithin the philippines The best way to go about is with Pal(Philippine Airlines) www.philippineairlines.com.Mabuhay Class. The service is what you might exspect in Business class, with hot food and friendly cabin crew. And it only cost a few tens pounds or more.
You can booked online and its safe..I do it all the time.
For ticket to Davao with singapore air.. you can look at their website or at www.opodo.co.uk
www.travelocity.co.uk.I think they have very good ticket offer.Happy trip

Getting into Davao is fine, apart from the kids trying to carry your luggage for a few pesos, just give them a gear message to sod off.

Also the taxi you get outside will include an airport parking fee, the start of corrupt Philippines ::)

On your way out at the airport, you will have to empty all your bags, pockets, etc, for so called security, but they do go too far searching Westerners.

You will also have to pay around 300 pesos to be allowed to get on the plane, more corruption, as your ticket when you buy it says all charges included.

Any Filipino's leaving via Davao may have to pay upto 1600 pesos in order to leave the country.

What a wonderful country ::)

We're off to Singapore for 3 weeks on the 18th May, but we are not calling in to see family in Davao, as it is just to much hassle.

I did set up this site to try nad help as many Filipino's get out of the country as possible, and as the database has only been active fro a few months, I know of 2 marriages going ahead, and 3 others possibly on the way. It's a good feeling to help these beautiful people have a better life.

Yes I must admit I found that the little exit charges are sneaked in by corruption in the Phlippines suprise suprise, nearly as corrupt as Blairs stealth taxes........and highwayman Browns petrol duty charges..........especially as he doesnt drive a car.

When a Philippine national leaves the country they are charged 1600 pesos, when we leave its 500 pesos airport fee, and they have special booths to pay it as well......Gina and I had to pay her 1600 pesos so that we could leave Manila and fly to Hong Kong........Bacalod City Airport is basically the same as Davao by the sound of it......when you go Cebu Pacific your bags are thrown in a pig pen........well at least that is what it looked like to me.....then everyone dives in.... on a first come first served basis.....I just looked back in bemusment.

Yes you get hassled by youngsters wanting a few pesos to carry your bags.....but thats par for the course in the Phls..Ilo Ilo City airport is even more chaotic......the bags get thrown onto a table and a mad scramble ensues........what a joke...oh well.. get used to it.....I agree with Keith lets help our people the Filipinos get out of the Philippines and get here to UK if we can............afer all they are our people too. we are marrying into them......best of luck.....Pete and Gina

Strange World, the Filipino's want to come here, and we want to get out!! ???

My wife only had to pay 600 peso at the airport, because they said she gets a discount being married to a Westerner. I think she just told them to bugger off myself, I know what she's like. Strange that they took her away from me, must think they bottle it and pay up on their own, they obviously don't know my tomboy missus ::)

They think the streets are lined with gold....9ct!!!
My wife is happy here, apart from the weather, but I counter that by taking her away 3-4 times a year.

I hope you have good heating ;D

Yes I'm looking to retire in about 15/20 years time and it certainly won't be in the UK......I'm looking for a country first of all that will accept me but most important from my point of view a country where there is more respect for each other....should I consider the Philippines ?
What do you think ?

Thanks again Keith, I do love horse racing especially the flat and I do already make a profit on my investments. A friend and I have been doing extremely well since the exchanges started and yes if it continues I may have to retire early.

I retired when I was 21!!, but that was for another reason.

Thanks to Labour for scrapping tax, and the exchanges, making money is much easier, as borderline systems now show good profits.

Plenty of pro-punters hiding in the woodwork, but I've got a good number together on my other forum, and we do our best to help the little guy make a few quid.

...as well as warn them that TOMMO is the worst tipster going! :o :)
