Elsa and I are off to the far east in just 4 days...we're flying into Hong Kong for a few days, then onto Philippines afterwards. We're also looking at a few days in Singapore. Any advice on best place to book a package deal? Should I book it in Hong Kong or Manila? Also, most important of all, does Elsa need a visa to enter Singapore or is the same as Hong Kong where she gets an automatic 2 week visa on entry? Any advice appreciated, I've heard Keith going on about Singapore so now I want to see what the fuss is all about.

"package deal" Plenty of them in Columbia :P

I always book on the web, and make the packages up myself. Use something like Expedia or Opodo for flights, they are cheaper in the UK, you'll pay more bookong elsewhere (UK actually has most of the cheapest flights on the planet).

For Asian hotels I use http://www.asiarooms.com, cheaper than the hotels direct, never had a problem, and make sure it says WITH BREAKFAST.

Singapore.....The York is in the heart of the place, and is a top class hotel with excellent food.

After booking the hotel, you can then email them directly with any requests. We always tell the York we want a high room, poolside facing....nice veiw :)

Rob, hi, Keith should have answered your question, but as usual he didnt, hahaha, but actually no Elsa does not need a visa Rob, the only thing I would say about Gina and I in Singapore, is be careful when booking packages through travel agents in the papers in Manila, they tend to put you in the Geylang Area, although it was ok, the rooms are basic, and its the red light area, as Keith has pointed out, the York is nice, also there is a nice reasonably priced hotel Rob called the Oxford hotel, you can get that on packages from Philippines, but the package deal is like 3 days 4 nights, if you want a review Rob read my review of Singapore on my multiply, i will call you with the details.
