Charles Kennedy shows some parliamentarism by announcing he is being treated for alcoholism and then calls a leadership contest,

2 things will happen.


His position will be strengthened by flusing out those that are knifing him in the back, and he will survive against the stalking horse.

or: his position will be unnatainable, and he will go.



Very smart move....at least if he survives, he survives much stronger, and if he is doing a good job and his party members thinks he is, then he his gamble will have come off.
