Hi everyone, I just wondered if anyone else was experiencing problems getting letters to their partners in the Philippines. I have sent 2 letters to my girl, a valentines card in the the middle of january, as well as some photos, as well as a Birthday card on another occasion with a bracelet. She has still not receieved either of these letters. I sent them by airmail. The stuff was well packaged as to disguise what was in it in the case of the bracelet.
Its a bit annoying because we can use the post she has received from me as a proof of relationship.
Thanks,
Simon.

The chance of a 'package' getting from A-B is less than 50% these days, best to send it by courier. Hope your not sending 9ct gold....they find that funny :yikes: Must be at least 18ct.
As for letters, some take 2 months.....it takes them that long to decide if they are worth posting or not!

Simon, its a well known fact that post in the Philippines is very unreliable. Your letter will be either opened to look for money, then thrown away, or it may be delivered sometime, if never. I sent 5 letters to Elsa when she was there, only one got thru' the others - including a Xmas card was obviously opened and upon finding no money, thrown away :cwm23: . Use a courier like Fedex for anything important.

I was very unsure if i should to send letters at first but just decided to send them the normal way and every letter that i have ever sent has got through which was surprising when you consider the experiences that you are others have had. The problem with sending it any other way for me is that it costs me £36 if i go with a courier..

It was only a 9ct gold bracelet, I didn't want to send anything too valuble just incase it didn't get through. I will take her the expensive stuff with me when I visit next month..

I've found that if you send them via royal mail 'international signed for' that letters get through ok. Stupily I sent a card and a letter before christmas without that, and guess what, yup, they went missing.
I haven't had a 'signed for' letter disappear yet. Bear in mind they will have to go to the post office to get it. :)

I use to write to my wife all the time, from different places in the world. She recieved at least 90% of my mails.
The bit that I found real strange was if I sent her a picture postcard. The post office chappie at her local joint would always stamp it 'recieved' right in the middle of the picture side, sometimes several times, almost obliterating the picture.
Oh how we laughed, he must have been such a fool not to realise that was the bit we really wanted to look at most. He was accidentally ruining the whole postcard tsk tsk, silly man

We just sent one or two example emails a month from thoughout our relationship. In my humble opnion I would send any mails or chat historys unedited as in theory editing them could get you in loads of problems if it was found out.
With regards to Yahoo messagner type historys just send them the screenshots of the logs not the actual conversations. I guess in theory you could show screenshots showing all the emails to and from one another from your hotmail/yahoo in/out box. You do the same for your Phone call record afterall.

When you send letters to your girlfriend never include anything such as bracelet or etc. Sadly those letters will never reach their destination. The Post Administrator have been trying to solve this perennial problem of letter disappearance . So don't tempt the postman. They will closely watch your next letter eagerly waiting what you will send next. Just write letters and save such gifts when you visit her.

I see in the UK we've just discovered another postie with around 50,000 items stored in his house :NoNo:
That's the 3rd recent one we've had. Late last year they needed around 3 trucks to shift stuff :icon_eek:
How many more are doing it??

So many thieves in the Philippine Postal office. I had this problem for a long time. I even tried sending a transparent sort of envelop to my sister so that they will know that there's nothnig valuable inserted on it but still it hasn't come. To make it sure send it by courier not through the post office.

I'm curious... in what part of the country are you from? Seems your post office is full of magicians...:D well they can make the letters disappear..so they are magicians ,right? Keep on sending your letter at the other town and why not have or rent out a post office box there? They seem more honest than the post office in your home town.:)

:NoNo:Oh-oh seems they recognize you now. I think your post office is the culprit. Use other means if that is the case . Just send your post at the other town and set up a post office box its safer that way. Ask about it at the post office they just charge a reasonable amount. I he sends money use the bank there are lots of banks . And communicating is very easy nowadays because of mobile phones.:BouncyHappy:
