Hiya,
My wife and I are planning on going on vacation to the US in September. Does she need some sort of special Visa for this ? and if so - where do we apply for it ?

Cheers

Andrew

Your wife will need to apply for a U.S. Holiday visa, this is a B2 visa, you must go onto the U.S.Embassy website and apply electronically, then call for an interview at the Embassy, the line is 1.25 per minute, then she must pay a fee for £63.00 into their account at Barclays, the details for this are on the U.S. Embassy Website in London, do a google search it will come up.

Yeah - I'll let you know how it goes. The interview is scheduled for May 5th in London. You basically fill in the online form and submit it - and also print it. You have to sign the printed version and take it along with you to the interview. The cost is £63.00 which must be paid any time before you have your interview(if it is by cheque - make sure you give it enough time to clear) - I will pay for Elizabeths today if I get arpund to it.
You need to phone for an interview - it costs £1.20 per minute - I was on there less than 2 mins and the girl who answered the phone was extremely helpful and precise.

Shocking

I had to go there in December for a work visa, and I spent days studying the forms and making sure I had every last 'I' dotted, 'T' crossed and every paper and photo correctly sorted.

When I got there I found it took longer to get through the security and in to the actualy embassy than it did to get the visa!!

And I then noticed that every second person who turned up had little or no documentation with them. The embassy was handing out application forms and payment slips to them all, and directing them to the nearest bank to pay, and the nearest photo shop to get their mug shots. All in all, the US Embassy was about 1000% more helpful and friendly than any other embassy I've dealt with, in any country.

Hi Andrew,

i was wondering how the interview went. Rhea has an appointment for the 8th June here in Belfast.

Let me know if it was a waste of time or not applying.

Thanks,

john
