Hi All,
I just wanted to let everyone know about a company i use, you may already know them or use them.
They are called Travelbag and i have just booked my latest trip to Fili through them and i think i have had a good deal.
i paid £960 which includes return flights on Cathay from Heathrow to Hong Kong, Return flights on Cathay from Hong Kong to Manilla, 1 night stay in Hong Kong at the Regal Kowloon hotel( i have stayed here many times and is excellent) also 4 nights accomodation at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Manilla which is i,m told a 5* place, for me Judith and baby Jenny.
Plus this company awards nectar points so if you do collect them i got 1600 points as well.
All in all i think i got a good deal, if anyone is interested in the contact name and phone number for Travel bag please let me know.
Thanks,
Tim

Hi Gang, I guess its time to surface, how is everyone, Pete and Gina is back on the air, after so long of being absent, we just booked our Christmas trip today, have to get in quick everyone, I was talking to Emirates today at Heathrow, they tell me, that they are having problems accomodating Filipinos wanting to come back from Manila between 2nd and 15th January 2007, we managed to secure ours, leaving on 11th December 2006 and returning 9th January 2007, that gives us 4 weeks in country, and we have a nice itinerary planned for the end of this year, the problem with Christmas flights, is that all the OCW's book a year in advance, because its generally the only time they can get home to spend time with their families, its not a problem getting to the Philippines, its normally a problem getting back to work in the 1st week of the year, so many online searches have proved that flights range from around :
Kuwait Airways from Heathrow via Kuwait City and Bangkok - Manila £668.00
KLM via Amsterdam - £695.00
Emirates via Dubai - £775.00
Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong £850.00
Quatar Airways via Doha £665.00
Gulf Air via Bahrain/Abu Dhabi £690.00
We managed to secure our flights on Emirates from Glasgow as we are going as a party of freinds, we secured now at £665.00 which is pretty good for that time of year, after the 12th December the price seems to rocket up by another £150.00 to £200.00 per adult ticket, going up towards the £900.00 return.
I also managed to secure Quatar Airways through Doha, for Gina to go back for the summer holidays at a price of £590.00, I guess the price of oil has shot up, its over 70 USD a barrel, which would account for the cost of Long Haul flights going up dramatically, last year, we took Keiths advice and managed to secure a Singapore Airlines flight via Singapore, for £500.00 this was with the free onward return flight to Manila.
This time last year, I got a deal on Emirates from LHR for £500.00, it seems that the prices have gone up by 20 per cent since the price of oil and aviation fuel has gone up so much, but I guess we all have to live with it.
At least our Christmas flights have been confirmed, and we dont have to spend the rest of the year trying to get them, I would advise anyone who is wanting to go back at Christmas to the Philippines to get cracking now and try and secure something.

I was checking flights over to the far east for the end of June when I go to bring Ashley back to the U.K.
I went to all the sites I could think of. Just looked at Air France website , Birmingham to Singapore via Paris CDG one way £490 , so I thought I would check what price it would be just for the Paris to Singapore flight and was quoted 2500 euros style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yikes.gif . How can airlines rip people off like that ? Remove one flight from the equation and the price goes up 400%
By the way , if anyone is interested , Virgin Atlantic are doing a special of return flights to Hong Kong for £389 but have to travel before 15 June

I went to HK last month on virgin for 393.20 in tax style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/BouncyHappy.gif . If you are going via Doha I'd advise against more than a 2hr stopover - if you have been there u know why style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cwm24.gif
