Wht a shame that you won't be going again. Was it that bad?

Hi. How was your trip to the Philippines? Did you find it a massive culture shock. I did, but Im looking forward to going again, but not for another year yet!

My friend lives in Bataan province and tells me it's an ugly place! I think the hospitality will make up for this and it will be wonderful to take part in the Christmas celebrations. I don't imagine Christmas is so commercialised over there as here.
The weather should be better in November, so hopefully you won't experience typhoons and earthquakes.
I shall be staying in a hotel too, but am not sure how I can make sure of drinking only bottled water when we will be visiting Emil's friends and family - but I'm going to try!

Hi. Im glad to hear that you have finally heard from your friend and that you are all booked to go. Im going on the 18th Nov, im excited but also very nervous,. Im worried about typhoons, and earthquakes( they had one yesterday!) and the same as you i m worried about getting ill. We are staying in a decent hotel but I still worry about getting a "dodgy belly". I think it will be a great adventure. Where does your friend live?.

Your situation does sound similar to mine. I often have doubts that maybe i am being scammed. But its so difficult to know. I met Edwin on a cruise ship 2 years ago and we ht it off straight away. Whilst he is on the ship, it can sometimes be 6 weeks between emails, but I know he is busy working a very long day and that they don't always have access to the internet. But it does sometimes make me feel un easy about the situation. Once he is home it is completely different and the emails are coming every day along with phonecalls. I have sent him money and he has offered to pay me back. I saw him in May on his ship in Alaska and everything was great and he does seem really keen for me to go to the Philippines. I think that once im there i will be able to get a better idea of whats going on between us, Im hoping to meet his family and kids etc. I wouldnt worry too much, im sure your friend will be so pleased that you are willing to travel all that way to see him.

Thanks for the message, which I've just found. I haven't been to the Philippines before and am having a few doubts now. I've been writing to my friend for 2 years but sometimes I don't hear from him for a while. He has a number of excuses - bad weather, feeling unwell, power cuts, too many people in the computer shop etc. I emailed him about dates for going over there but haven't had a reply. I even asked a lady I write to to contact him for me but I haven't heard from either of them! Your situation sounds much better and I hope you enjoy yourself.

Hi. Im just waiting for my BF to get home from his latest contract. He works on a cruise ship and is due home in October. I will then be booking my flights. Im just going for a week, as i cant get any more time off work. Have you been before?. I havent, this will be my first time. I am nervous and excited.
