Throughout the day, I've been thinking a lot about your brother's condition after reading the latest update you posted on Saturday night.

Unfortunately, I could no longer find this post ... and realised you'd most probably decided to remove it from the appropriate thread for personal reasons.

However, I wonder if you'd be agreeable to me putting his [christian] name forward to members of an ongoing 'Prayer Chain' that operates within my Church. I felt it only right and proper to seek your permission to go ahead with this idea - as not everyone has religious beliefs. Equally, I wouldn't want to build up any false hopes of a miracle cure ... rather it is a matter of faith.

Understandably, you're having an exceptionally busy time with going back and forth to the hospital ... but you might like to consider my suggestion and let me know your feelings whenever it's convenient.

Rosie ... for the kind message you sent me a week ago; please accept my apologies for the somewhat *delayed response to it - *due to my having been away for a few days in the wilds of Aberdeenshire to mark both my grandchildrens' birthdays on the 6th & 8th respectively.

Nevertheless, I've kept track of events in relation to your brother's illness, and the prospect of his being assessed by the neurology specialist - as mentioned in your recent posts - with the likelihood of a subsequent referral to an appropriate hospital here in the UK. Likewise, the feasibility of visas for his partner and son being granted expeditiously on compassionate grounds.

I wish it were possible to wave the proverbial "magic wand" as a means of resolving the current uncertainties of the medical prognosis ... compounded by the difficulties inherent in long-distance communication. However, you can be assured of our ongoing thoughts and prayers, Rosie.
