Hi Alan ....... glad that you are taking a week off to settle in your mahal, you must both be feeling very excited and now counting the days. I did the same for my sister- in- law last November. During that time, we registered with a GP, applied to the DWP for a national insurance number, caught a bus, visited our local library, went shopping for some warm clothes and to several supermarkets. We also found a school for my nephew and went to visit there too.

One of the most difficult things for my sister-in-law to cope with was the loneliness when I went back to work and nephew went to school. Thankfully after 3 months, I also found her a part time job which has made such a difference to her.

I am hoping to take sis and nephew to the barrio festival in Milton Keynes next month, it would be nice to introduce ourselves to you both!

Many thanks Rosie for your kind wishes.
I guess returning to work will be the hardest part and leaving Lyn alone all day..

The MK festival is on my list and sounds like a great idea
Perhaps you should start a thread and see how many members we can get to go there and we can all meet up....!

Hope your brother is still making excellent progress

    Hi Alan,
your waiting has made me all excited as well as my honey and our little prince and princess are now only 13 days away from home. Reading your posts reminds me of the nerves and excitement preparing for Ligaya and Joshuas arrival here in the UK back in April 2008, he was only 10 weeks old.... Well you have had loads of advice and tips on here so just really enjoy your week ahead from wednesday and just try to curb your enthusiasim to show her everything at once. No doubt we will see each other either at the MK fiesta or the Birmingham one.

    have a fantastic week
Live your life for a reason and don't worry be happy

if you don't know where you are going then any road will do!!

Not long now, make sure you get a good sleep before your drive down to Gatwick (as if you will)

All the best for both of you as you start your lives together in the UK

Hope her transfer in Doha isnt too long, I've had two 8-9 hour transfers there on my first trip to the Phils and back.

I'm sure you'll make her feel at home when she gets here and help her get over the sadness of leaving her family behind
