looted second world war stuff.
help...can any one advise me..for quite some yrs now ok may be only ten, but i was handed down some wine flutes.. from my dear aunt whos older brother looted some war stuff durring the german occupation of france.. these wine flutes are very fine glass more like egg shell glass but about 7mm down from the top rim they are inscribed with adolf hitlers name and then a lovely type of inscribing completely round the glass.. its only a pattern may be 3mm thick... i do not or dare not use thes as they are so delicate so they are kept in a box in my attic... my question is if i had to auction them or sell them would i be liable for handling stolen goods.

When I saw the title I thought it was going to be about Yamashitas fabled gold.
Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

If you mentioned the world looted, you can not sell them at auction..... you can do what politicians do and spin the story, I mean they are the ones who set an example for the rest of us peasants to follow

Technically I think that as you have them you could be charged with handling stolen goods, you don't need to sell them to put yourself into that category.
However, it would have to be proved that the items were stolen, I would think (apart from your confession here ! ) that would be just about impossible in the circumstances you have described.

24th June 2011 #10I dont believe it exists Joe,though there are con-men making very good livings from fleecing the gullible who follow the legendis that what you've been looking for
I have heard of guys who find a cave stuffed with looted WW2 gold, they dynamite the entrance to hide it intending to go back, but then dont have the cash to uncover the sealed cave entrance
Theres a guy I met once or twice called Phil Sparrowhawk,he wrote a book and mentions the legend of the 5 ton gold buddha hidden beneath a car-park in a nunnery in Davao, loads of similar legends, all spurious and all intended to sucker the next mark
I was caving once in Mindanao,I have a pic somewhere of the sarcophagus if I find it this weekend I will post it,anyway,I was caving with two guys and a hundred yards or so into a cave we found a rough-hewn coffin, the edge was visible under a pile of rocks
strange story but true,we uncovered it and dragged it down the passage towards the cave mouth, the two guys were convinced it contained something of value as there were a lot of rumours floating around about gold hidden locally,to cut a long story to ribbons they smashed open the lid...............................I am not rich, neither are they,I guess you know what it contained
Dem bones...dem bones....dem dry bones!

In certain areas of Luton and Bradford you'll be able to get fixed up with receipts from Hitler, and then you're good to go.
