Europe to Manila = £355 return
Sorry about the late posting... I don't use this forum that often..
Not many flights left but available until September next year.. it's a YQ dump (fuel dump) by flying out of italy (Milan or Rome) and back to London.
It's flying with saudi airlines - it's the cheapest around at the mo even with a Eastjet flight...
Next cheapest is the extended 72 hours sale with etihad but this is only for flights until the middle of December...
Just thought i should post to help someone out... well if you need to go in a rush

Thanks for the info Chino

If Saudi were the only airline flying to Manila, I'd rather walk
I had bookings with them for April 2011 and Dec 2011. In April they decided to reschedule the flights 2 weeks before I was due to depart, a 3 ish hour transit became about 12 hours, so I cancelled and went with Cathay Pacific. They changed the schedules for my December flight 3 times before I eventually had enough and cancelled. I've never had a problem with any other major airline.

I normally fly to Hong Kong with Qatar and I am a gold frequent flyer with them so i get a few perks... then i get a low cost airline over to Manila but now i am cutting back so i am will to try anything....
I have had a 19 hour connection in Doha and i just made the most of it and explored Doha (got a hire car etc)

I frequently do the same thing, and go via HK or Singapore, plus it gives me the chance to explore if I entend my stay for 2 or 3 days. If I can I try to go with KLM or Emirates as they depart from my local airport, the only drawback with Emirates is you have to get a Tourist Visa if you want to leave the airport. On my first flight to Manila I had a 10-12 hour transit in Doha, I didn't think of getting a car and doing what you did

Had a quick scout about, and those flights are available as you said from FCO and MXP, bookable prices seem to be around the £380 mark.
Is a fairly good deal if your looking for something cheap.
I used to do the Hong Kong routing a few times (4 years ago got a £299 return with Finnair). But to be honest, since i've been flying so much with work in the last few years I try to make it as easy as possible.
If your up for an adventure, this does seem an interesting way to do it. With lots of water and coke, without the rum.

That's good advice there. I'm planning on visiting my mahal on the beginning of March and was wondering how early to book and if there's a cheapest return price below £200?

I don't think you'll get anything from the Uk for less than £400. The cheapest flight to Manila I booked was £397 with Saudi from Heathrow, but they changed the transit times and schedule several times, in the end I got fed up and cancelled and paid £150 more for a more reliable service from Birmingham (which actually costs no more, given that I'm closer to Brum and won't have to pay £200 to park my car).

Hey Arthur,
No there's been a change of original plan as I will go there first seeing it's the filipine tradition. We're all doing very well and so excitied about Christmas and meeting up soon
Maybe you could help us with the spouse visa in the near future.
Merry Christmas to you both in advance

Cheapest I ever got was a return to Hong Kong.
I thought I'd bought a single, and it wasn't until I checked in at Heathrow that the man pointed out it was a return...for £272.
Someone had made a ballsup somewhere, but I got back home on it ok.

Aeroflot....plane was practically empty because people were scared to fly with them after the incident with the Russian Pilot's child flying a new leased Airbus into the ground, a few months (or weeks maybe) before my flight.

I did pack a very large carrier bag and plenty of string just in case.

Next time I'm on a dodgy airline I'll take one of these suits.

A dear old late friend of mine who I used to meet up in India every Christmas flew with them to Delhi....not because they were the cheapest, but because they were the only airline with a smoking section long after the western European airlines had banned smoking

Sorry it's not a fuel dump - just cheap... (Sorry about the late reply i don't check the forum all the time)....
The deal is still on, you can book direct or pay £23.50 extra and book via STA (they don't advertise this price)....
I am booking this shorting, not stating the dates as they only have 4 seats available.... reviews don't seem too bad and it will be saving my friends who are coming out for my wedding over £200 each
PS I have found £160 to NYC

, Nick ... and I see from your earlier post - which I've quoted below - that you are too!!
Or has there been a change to the ORIGINAL plan?
... OR possibly DIY ...
- thereby saving on a pilot's wages!
...
beforehand!
