Yes Brian, I personally found their charges expensive compared to others I was using and that's why I stated so. I have no experience of WU as I don't use them.
The rates you picked out to quote have since been reduced as you can see in their post #12
I think they now offer a great service with many benefits for you.Hi all,
Thank you for your comments. We listened to your feedback and we have reduced our fees for larger amounts. We don’t charge additional fees for using debit or credit cards.
Here is our new fee structure for Philippines.
For £1.00 - £50 is £2.99
For £50.01 - £75 is £3.99
For£ 75.01 - £150 is £4.99
For £150.01 - £300 is £5.99
For £300.01 - £3,500 is £6.99
Visit our website for additional information https://www.worldremit.com/en/philippines or feel free to contact us at. We are here to help
Regards,
WorldRemit Team

Brian, everyone has their own favourite methods, and there are plenty of organisations/banks/remittance companies who will offer to do it for you.
Sometimes cheap is not always cheap.
Service and convenience are also important
The cost is down to both charges and the exchange rates on offer, and often they vary depending on how much you will send.
If you're happy with WorldRemit then I would say stick with them. Their rates are OK, their exchange rates are OK and the service is reliable and convenient.
Don't give yourself more headaches. You have enough to think about
Good luck

I always use Iremit and their fees are about £6 for upto £700 on their Visa reloading card and money always seems to be credited to card fairly quickly.

Remember* dont just look at the charges also take into consideration the exchange rate.
You need to look at the total recieved fot the total sent and charged. I always used moneygram for the convienience of being able to send from my local post office.

Western Union i think is the most expensive one and the worst exchange rate. I only use it if i have to send money straight away which is not often now, i use world Remit now straight in to bank account, great service in my opinion.
