Just avoid DHL! I recently had a failed delivery because the DHL staff in Manila wanted a back hander saying the zero valued shipment was subject to import duty.

When Keith sent his documents to me to Manila, he used DHL and it only took exactly 3 days to be delivered, with online tracking too.

TNT is also a major carrier - took 2 days, in our case. With online tracking. It was £49.0 for 3 kgs of paperwork, Posted in London, to Cavite.

Hehe. My employer uses a courier to get stuff all around the world and the courier told me that everything heading that way (Asia /Australasia etc) goes through a massive hub in Germany.......ours did also. Next stop Philippines, apparently.

My wife uses the wrong ZIP code for her home address............. so our parcel initially went to a distant province (Maragondon) in Cavite instead of Dasmarinas They were out trying to deliver to Maragondon on the 2nd day. Fortunately I managed to put them straight and it took an extra day in the end. Worrying at the time.

errr..i'm wondering why you had to pay for customs? How much did they ask? I didn't pay anything when I got the documents before? does your parcel contain anything else other than the documents?

From what I have read on the forum, sometimes people do get surcharged when receiving in Philippines. My wife didn't, however, she was lucky.

They also have branches in Liverpool, Ramsbottom and Bradford. I noticed you are in Lancashire.

It was 49 quid for 3kgs paperwork in 2 days. No surcharge in our case.
