Awful timings, better off going via HK now, not worth taking the KLM flight anymore. In my experience, flights which have a stopover, offer pretty much no service on the final leg as well.

Bad timings, and much better options available elsewhere. However, I don't think the blame lies with KLM, the finger should be pointed at the Filipino authorities and their greed in demanding higher taxes.

with not much experiance in the flights, having only flown twice to the phils, i would rather try for a stay over some where to break the journey, a few days would seem like another holiday to me, just my thought, dont mean to offend anyone

I think they have kind of shot themselves in the foot - they are adding a new route - no doubt to increase revenue but ruined a good route for us Brits!
Personally I have never flown via KLM to Phils (only used them in Asia KL to Jakarta) and always gone via Dubai, or KL or Singapore (mixing business with pleasure).
I agree its better to go via HK or Singapore now and I agree with Steve - would be best to stop somewhere in the middle if finaces allow and break the journey down meaning you are limited to using Cathay, Virgin, Singapore Airlines, BA and the like.
We used to use Cebu from KL to Phils as they were the cheapest...

I agree with you Tone and Steve
I haven't flown direct to the Phils for ages, I always enjoy a few days in HK or SG en-route

TweetWell, the biggest downside is the arrival time in MNL in the evening. That does not allow for onward domestic connections into the province anymore.
KLM arrived in MNL in the morning with plenty of choice before ...
Even an intermediate stop would probably be accepted as long as it wouldn´t affect arrival time too much !
