Thread: Hii everyone!

Hii everyone!
I'm Dan and this is the first forum I've ever read or joined. Just wanted to say how useful the information has been and I've only been a member a couple of days!!! A big thank you!
I've been married for nearly 18 months and my wife and son are still in the Philippines. I've been fortunate to be able to visit them every 3 months since we've been married and have recently returned from a 3 month visit with them.
It's always been our intention for them to move to the UK; however, we've been prevented by the fact that she was under the 21 yo age limit. Thankfully, this now appears to have changed (in the middle of my time over there) so I'm now frantically looking for a job to prove I've got the funds to support their move (I had to leave my previous job and use my savings in order to spend that time with them)!!!
I'm sure I'll be posting more at some point but at the moment all my questions are being answered by the threads published on the forum! If only the UKBA website could be as useful!!!
Cheers!!!!

Hello Dan, you're very welcome here.
Plenty of very helpful people here with lots of different experiences.
There's also a great many people here who would love to hear about your recent experiences in the Philippines.
Looking forward to seeing some of your experiences

Good luck Dan - make sure you get everything in order - including the TOEIC/IELTS english tests, there is a huge amount of info here but ask as necessary!

Welcome to the forum Dan, and good luck in bringing your family here.

I'm assuming you've registered the baby with the British Embassy so that you can get him a British passport ? (VERY important, and not too expensive).
You only then need worry about bringing your wife here on a visa, as none would be required for your baby.

Thanks very much everyone!
Fingers crossed they'll be over within the next 6 months or so and I'm hoping I can get out there in the next couple of months.
Our son has yet to be registered with the embassy as they demanded a DNA test. We managed to get that done when I was over there last (at a cost of £850!!!) but the test results didn't come until I got back to the UK.
Jo has had a look at the english test links that have been posted on the site - very useful!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
